How to make Restaurant-Style Soya Chilli at home

​Restaurant-Style Soya Chilli

It’s a spicy and filling side dish that is often served with Fried Rice or Hakka Noodles. You can also serve it as a snack with soft drinks. Take a look at the easiest Soya Chilli recipe.

​Ingredients required

1 cup soya chunks, 1/2 tsp red chilli powder, 1/4 cup corn flour, 1 cup oil, 3-4 garlic cloves, 1 green chilli, 4 tbsp spring onion, 2 tbsp onion, 1/2 green capsicum

Step 1

Boil soya chunks in enough water, strain and set aside.

Step 2

In a kadhai/wok, heat oil and fry soya chunks until they turn golden-brown in colour.

Step 3

In the same kadhai/wok, add garlic, green chilli, onion, and spring onion. Sauté on high flame.

​Step 4

Next, add capsicum and sauté till they change colour.

Step 5

Add tomato sauce, chilli sauce, soy sauce, vinegar, salt and pepper. Mix well and sauté for a minute.

Step 6

Make a slurry of cornflour and water and slowly add it to the gravy. Cook till the gravy thickens and turns glossy.

Step 7

Add fried soya chunks and mix well. Cook for 1 minute.

Step 8

Garnish with chopped spring onion and serve hot with Hakka Noodles or Fried Rice.
